JJ Redick: A Duke Superstar

Early Life and Career

JJ Redick, born June 24, 1984, in Roanoke, Virginia, was a highly touted basketball player from an early age. He attended Roanoke Catholic School, where he led his team to two state championships and earned numerous accolades. Redick's impressive high school performance drew the attention of several top college programs, but he ultimately chose to play for his favorite team, the Duke Blue Devils.

Duke Career

Redick quickly established himself as a star at Duke. He was named the ACC Rookie of the Year in 2003 and went on to become one of the most prolific scorers in program history. Redick was a two-time All-American, an All-ACC selection three times, and was named the ACC Player of the Year in 2006. He also helped lead Duke to the Final Four in 2004 and the NCAA Championship Game in 2006.
