Christie Sides Named Head Coach of Indiana Fever

Former WNBA Champion Brings Experience and Excitement to Indianapolis

Indianapolis, IN (February 22, 2023)

The Indiana Fever has announced the appointment of Christie Sides as the ninth head coach in franchise history. Sides brings a wealth of experience and success to Indianapolis, having won two WNBA championships as a player and serving as an assistant coach for the New York Liberty and Phoenix Mercury.

As a player, Sides was a three-time WNBA All-Star and was named the Defensive Player of the Year in 2001. She was a key member of the Detroit Shock teams that won championships in 2003 and 2006. After retiring from playing, Sides began her coaching career as an assistant with the Liberty in 2009. She then joined the Mercury in 2017 and helped the team win the WNBA championship in 2019.
